Maxi Dress Season!

With the arrival of the warm weather it is also the arrival of  maxi dress season! Maxi dresses are easy to wear and are perfect for hot summer days. Today, i’m sharing with you one of my favorite maxi dresses. I got this dress at the end of summer last year and fell in love with it! This is also the month of Ramadan, a religious month of fasting for Muslims and this dress is perfect for any ladies iftar’s you may be attending because of the long sleeves and length – you’ll be trendy and modest 😉

Everyone knows I love neutral colors so I went for the grey, but the floral print adds some color and that spring vibe. I wore this to a recent bridal shower and to dress it up I  paired it with nude heels and a blush clutch.

A Little Bit of Gray For A Gray Kind of Day

Hi all,

April is upon us which means – hello April showers! As many aren’t, i’m not a huge fan of a rainy day, however, I strategize by putting on a outfit I like so that I don’t feel the negativity.

Today’s outfit is simple, I grabbed a gray sweater and paired it with a white tank underneath. This created a polished look that is perfect for the office! My work bag went perfectly with this because it added some color to the whole look.

Valentine’s Day to Night Outfit

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

I’m one of those people who love Valentine’s Day whether I am celebrating it with someone or not. I love the flowers, chocolates and stuffed animals in the tradional reds and pinks!

Today, I wanted share with you my Valentine’s Day themed outfit that is perfect for going from day to night!

This outfit is very simple. I took one of the few red shirts I own and paired it with a pair of distressed jeans and heels for a casual but put together day time look.

For the evening look, I changed from the jeans into this black lace pencil skirt. I LOVE this skirt because it’s black so it goes with everything and the lace adds some detail and has a feminine touch to it!

New Year, New Me?

Happy New Year everyone!

I could not be happier welcoming 2017! This past year was a tough one and I am relieved to be saying goodbye to it. I thought it was just me who felt down about 2016, but the more I talked to people about it, the more I realized it seemed to be a bad year for everyone.

It wasn’t just personal reasons, look at the election, could things have been worse? I was born in Pakistan but I have spent most of my life here in the U.S and I have always thought that no matter where we stand now, this country is improving and we are taking steps to move forward. The presidential election of 2016 proved me wrong. It’s been a few months, but I am still just in utter disbelief that the “open-minded” people of this country would elect an ignorant, misogynistic, racist excuse of man lead this nation.  I am going to stop my self right here and to avoid going into a rant about politics 😛 .

Despite it all, things are looking up for 2017. It’s been a few months but I have settled into my new job which I absolutely LOVE. I am in media and I get to do digital marketing for many businesses that I grew up hearing about, not to mention that I work with the nicest group of people and have a wonderful office. To enjoy this and to make sure that I start off this year on a positive note I made a decision that many digital marketing people could never dream of, unplugging.

We’ve all heard the debate a million times, everyone’s always on their screens and real human contact is becoming non existent, but on the other hand, we don’t have a choice because that’s where society is headed and we need to go with it or we will fall behind. Trust me, I get it. However, the more I thought about, the more I realized how anxious it makes me when my phone lights up and I have the need to reply right away. It’s a small thing and we may not realize it, but our minds and body use up unnecessary energy in these little “worries.” So I thought to myself what would be the best way to tackle this and I arrived at a happy medium.

I texted/messaged all of my close friends and the group chats i’m in and told them straight up, that I wanted to begin this year by being in a positive state of mind and in order to focus on that, I’ve decided not to be constantly messaging or on my phone. If there is an emergency, feel free to text but not to just start up conversation. Save the real conversations for when we meet or for the friends that live far, Face time.

After actively doing for this for about two weeks, I can tell you that this is one of the best decisions I have made. When I meet up with friends, we have so much to talk about since we aren’t getting constant updates, and we can share our stories getting real time reactions. The anxiety to reply right away has disappeared. I did not realize how much of a burden that felt like before it was gone. I still post things on Snap chat and Instagram but without the constant pressure to reply to messages. I have finally found a happy medium to stay unplugged but not fall behind. I encourage you to try doing this for a week and see how it goes! Trust me, its worth a try!

Looking forward to all the positiveness this year will bring to all of our lives iA!

-Until next time

Dressing Up The Over Sized Sweater!

Hi All!

Winter has officially struck upstate NY. If you have ever lived near the Rochester/Buffalo area, you know that winter here is no joke. I’m talking about feets of snow, terrible driving conditions – if you’re car doesn’t skid once while driving to work in the morning, you’re not really experiencing an upstate winter. The worst part is that this weather leads to intense laziness, i’m sure none of us need more of that. For that reason, the only way to get through this is by wearing comfy sweaters.

One of the only reasons that I look forward to this time of year – the over sized, warm sweaters! Unfortunately, we can’t wear them all season around but today I am sharing a way to dress up your sweater so that you can pull it off on a causal work day if you need to (and by need, I mean anytime it’s socially acceptable 😛 )

The way I dressed this over sized sweater, was by simply adding heels and a cute bag. This is one of the easiest ways to dress up anything at all!

Fall Wrap 4-Ways!

Hi all,

Unfortunately, Fall is beginning to wind down but before it officially does I wanted to share with you four ways to wear the fall staple that so many of us have in our closets this season – a wrap.

This wrap is a beautiful mustard color and matches the color of the gorgeous fall leaves! I wore this with a black tshirt and leggings for that comfy feel.

1. The first way to wear this is the simplest way, like a shawl over the shoulders.

2. The second way is one of my favorites, with a belt. This is more flattering and looks more put together instead of the casual vibe the other three ways are.

3. This third look is more relaxed, with one side across the shoulder. I love wearing it this way on chilly days!

4. This final way create the affect of a wrap shirt. All you have to do is tuck in the sides of the shawl in your jeans and you’re good to go!

Comment below and let me know what you think of these simple ways to change up the look of your wrap!
